Toyota is back in the Super Bowl for the fourth year in a row.
Jack Hollis, Senior Vice President Automotive Operations at Toyota Motor North America, told Adweek, “Toyota will be part of the Super Bowl LV 2021 promotional series on CBS. We look forward to sharing more details as we get closer to the big game. “
The ad marks Toyota’s ninth Super Bowl appearance in the past 10 years. The brand and its agencies are known for causing a sensation: Last year’s Saatchi & Saatchi ad featured Cobie Smulders as the blockbuster heroine who saved the day in her Highlander.
Three years ago, Saatchi & Saatchi created an ad that focused on the story of eight-time Paralympic gold medalist Lauren Woolstencroft. And two years ago, Toyota and Burrell Communications made a grand statement that included the story of soccer star Toni Harris, the first woman to receive a college scholarship in a non-stepping position.
In 2018, the brand brought its Supra model back from the market after 20 years.
