Almost a week after Joe Biden was declared the 2020 presidential election winner, President Donald Trump refused to admit and made no public appearances other than an official appearance at Arlington National Cemetery on Veterans Day. However, the president has been quite vocal on social media, where he has made a number of unsubstantiated claims about election fraud.

However, Trump also targeted his apparently former “favorite” television network, Fox News. On Thursday he tweeted from his @ realDonaldTrump account: “. @ FoxNews daily ratings have completely collapsed. Weekend time of day even WORSE. Very sad to watch this but they forgot what made them successful, what got them there You forgot the Golden Goose The biggest difference between the 2016 and 2020 election was @FoxNews! “

Many of his followers agreed. This included second amendment attorney JT Lewis (@thejtlewis) who replied, “Trump should start a messaging network!”

Many likely former Fox News viewers expressed frustration that their apparently favorite and once trusted news station called Arizona on election night, far earlier than some other new organizations waiting for the ballot count to resume. The day after the election, The Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) went on Twitter to highlight that “Trump supporters in Arizona are singing ‘Fox News sucks’ for calling the state for Biden yesterday”.

Must flee news

While Fox News was the most-viewed news network on election night, according to Nielsen Media Research, its ratings when reporting on President-elect Joe Biden’s victory speech on November 7th were far behind CNN and MSNBC.

In the days since those viewers posted their outrage on Twitter. Many suggested dropping Fox News for OAN (One America News) or Newsmax.

@ DeborahJurgens3 tweeted, “I’m done with Fox News !! They are sheep in wolf clothes. They are very liberal! Will only see OAN from now on !! They say they are conservative but a bunch of liars !!!”

The sentiments were shared by @Michael_Stout who added, “I’ve been a loyal FOX viewer for many years now. Tucker, Hannity and Laura should leave while they can. FOX is now staggering left and it’s obvious. [sic]””

Conservative platforms

It’s not just Fox News that some Conservatives will move away from. While Trump’s supporters have been vocal on Twitter, they have been looking for alternative platforms.

Among those who did the job is Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) from Conservative Radio Talk: “Hurry up and follow me on Parler. I can’t stay on Facebook or Twitter if they keep censoring me. And one One day I’ll leave hers. ” Parler is a wonderful alternative and growing and we need you asap. He believes in a really frank speech. “

Parler’s popularity has grown since the elections, and on November 7th, the “Community Guidelines” announced that based on the opinions expressed, the platform would not decide which content to “remove, filter, or whose account is removed” within [sic] the content.”

With more than 70 million people voting for Donald Trump, it’s easy to see Parler become the free app on Apple’s App Store and Google Play this week, according to research firm SensorTower. In just one week, Parler’s membership increased from around 4.5 million to over 8 million.

Parler isn’t the only one drawing such a right audience. Gab, which launched in August 2016, has also built a far-right user base, but some critics have suggested that it has become a platform adopted by neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and old-right militia groups like the Proud Boys. This could lead to “guilt by association” for those conservatives who choose Gab, even if they do not subscribe to such beliefs.

ready to rumble

Another alternative to the pop-up on social media is Rumble, a video-sharing website similar to YouTube. User growth has increased dramatically since Biden was elected last week.

That sudden growth was not lost on Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski (@chrispavlovski), who tweeted, “Every media and news organization needs to be careful! I can for the first time confirm that Parler Rumble sends more referral traffic than Facebook / Twitter’s dependence on them is a thing of the past

Next, Rumble will dethrone YouTube “

However, this fragmentation could only widen the political divide. JD Durkin (@jivedurkey), White House / Capitol Hill correspondent in Cheddar, addressed this in a tweet: “FOX IS TOO LIBERAL, WE’RE GOING TO OAN

When people see news they don’t like, they split off to start their own and confirm their prejudices. This splintering is dangerous – and it is only just beginning “

Durkin added, “I think it’s great that there are more platforms in the media than ever before. Good people make paychecks for what they love. What’s dangerous is the resulting echo chambers and toxicity to anything that tells you.” what to wear. ” don’t want to hear “
