Rackspace launched its most reliable hosting company site in January 2021. The top five hosting company websites responded to all Netcraft queries in January and were disconnected based on average connection time. Rackspace offers a variety of cloud hosting solutions from 40 data centers on five different continents in America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

The podium is completed by New York Internet (NYI) and EveryCity. NYI offers bare metal, cloud, and colocation services from its four US data centers. Based in the UK, EveryCity provides third-party cloud hosting solutions and managed services from its primary data center in the heart of London.

ServerStack and Dinahosting also responded to all requests from Netcraft in January. ServerStack claims its place in the top 10 and has appeared 11 times in the past 12 months, more than any other hosting company website. ServerStack offers managed and dedicated solutions from its three data centers in North America and Europe. dinahosting offers its services from Interxion in Madrid. Customers can choose from a range of cloud and managed solutions and register domain names.

FreeBSD took second place with NYI and SmartOS came third with EveryCity in January. Linux was used in the top 10 by the other eight sites.

Netcraft measures and provides the response times of around twenty websites from leading hosting providers. Performance measurements are taken at 15 minute intervals from various locations on the Internet and averages are calculated over the immediately preceding 24 hour period.

From the customer’s point of view, the percentage of failed requests is more relevant than outages on the websites of the hosting company, as this gives an indication of the reliability of the routing. For this reason, we rank our table according to the fewest failed requests rather than shortest downtime. If the number of failed requests is the same, the sites are ranked by average connection times.
