Choopa.com had the most trusted hosting company site in April 2021 and was the leader of the table for the fifth time in the past 12 months. The top five websites have each responded to all of Netcraft’s queries, but Choopa.com’s average connection time of just 3ms wins first place. The host offers a range of services including cloud hosting, dedicated hosting and colocation in its own main office in Piscataway, New Jersey, as well as other facilities in Los Angeles, Amsterdam and Tokyo.

Second place this month goes to Rackspace, just behind Choopa.com with an average connection time of 6 ms. Rackspace has been in the top 10 for five consecutive months, four of which made it into the top 3. Rackspace offers a variety of cloud services from its global network of over 50 locations on five continents.

Dinahosting completes the top three for April. dinahosting offers its services from Interxion in Madrid. Customers can choose from a range of cloud and managed solutions and register domain names. Swishmail and Flexential also responded to all requests from Netcraft in April and are in 4th and 5th place.

Linux remains the dominant operating system choice in the top 10 as of April and is used by nine of the top 10 sites. FreeBSD also ranks 6th with NYI.

Netcraft measures and provides the response times of around twenty websites from leading hosting providers. Performance measurements are taken at various locations on the Internet at 15 minute intervals and averages are calculated over the immediately preceding 24 hour period.

From the customer’s point of view, the percentage of failed requests is more relevant than outages on the websites of the hosting company, as this gives an indication of the reliability of the routing. For this reason, we rank our table according to the fewest failed requests rather than the shortest downtime. If the number of failed requests is the same, the sites are ranked by average connection times.
