We are still in a new world of work, so it is important that we continue to work from home when we can. We have already adapted to a world where remote teams have become the norm. However, to ensure that our teams are effective, a new management approach is required. It can be difficult from afar to keep teams motivated, productive, and empowered in their work. However, there are strategies you can use to support your team and ensure that your business continues to run smoothly.

Maintain commitment and motivation

It is understandable that the first few days or weeks of this current climate resulted in a flurry of activity. Employees and teams – all of us – want to show that they are ready to embrace new communication methods and work practices. And maybe there was a bit of adrenaline involved in this new routine from home ?!

However, the first few days are difficult to maintain in the long run, which is why it’s important to have a rough schedule and regular check-ins. In order for teams to feel confident working online, you need to do more to ensure their work environment is as secure as possible. A standard office security protocol simply no longer offers the required level of protection. With this in mind, it should be the job of management and leadership teams to provide all employees with the information and tools they need to feel safe at work.

VPN use has been standard in countries like China where censorship is rampant, but it can actually simply help keep your network secure.
