How to schedule videos on Instagram (no notifications required!)
ICYMI: You can schedule in-feed videos with Later and automatically post them to Instagram. This is completely free for all users. Here’s how:
Step 1: Sign up for a future account (free or paid) or sign in to an existing account.
Step 2: Add videos to your future media library by dragging and dropping them onto the desktop or uploading them to your phone from your camera roll.
Step 3: Select Instagram as the publishing channel and drag a video from your media library to your calendar.
Step 4: Select “Auto Publish” from the drop-down list and select the date and time you want your post to go live.
Step 5: Write your caption, add hashtags to your post, schedule an initial comment, set a location, and add a Linkin.bio link. Some of these features are only available for paid plans.
TIP: Curate lists of hashtags and add them to your caption in two steps with Later’s Saved Captions feature!
Step 6: Tap Edit Video to crop and trim your video. This function is only available on the desktop.
Step 7: C.lick save. Your video is ready and will be published automatically at the selected time.
NOTE: You must have a business account for Later’s automatic publishing feature to work. Otherwise, you’ll need to use Later’s notification feature to post. The video file size cannot be larger than 512MB for paid plans and 25MB for free plans.
Your video must also meet the requirements of a native Instagram post:
- Videos must be between 3 and 60 seconds long
- The aspect ratio must be 1.91: 1 to 4: 5
