Receiving messages too often is the number one reason people opted out of branded messages (email lists, text lists, etc.) during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to recent SlickText research.

The report is based on data from a survey conducted among 1,100 people in the United States in January 2021.

Respondents say they are contacted too often as this has resulted in them being likely to opt out of brand communications during the pandemic.

Other key factors are receiving politicized content and receiving impersonal messages.

38% of respondents say the pandemic has no impact on how likely they are to open branded emails. 17% say they are more likely to open branded emails and 17% say they are less likely to open branded emails.
