According to recent research by SharpSpring Ads and Ascend2, Facebook / Instagram and Google are the platforms they use most often for ad retargeting.

The report is based on data from a survey of 176 marketers (42% work for B2C companies, 25% for B2B companies, 25% for hybrid B2C-B2B companies, and 8% for agencies).

Around 77% of respondents say that Facebook / Instagram advertising is part of their retargeting strategy, and 69% say that Google advertising is part of their retargeting strategy.

Brand awareness is the number one retargeting goal for B2B marketers, while customer loyalty is the number one retargeting goal for B2C marketers.

B2B and B2C targets for retargeting ads

Marketers say the top performance indicators they use most often to measure the effectiveness of their retargeting efforts are return on investment, return on advertising spend, and cost-per-acquisition.
